About Me

Hello! My name is Mrs. Murley. I am a graduate from Clarke University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a Reading and Coaching Endorsement. I have finished my student teaching experience at Resurrection Elementary in the kindergarten and third grade classroom. I have been teaching at St. Mary Immaculate Conception since 2009 in the Kindergarten classroom. I recently accepted a job working at Resurrection where I student taught in the Kindergarten classroom. I LOVE teaching kindergarten. It is a true passion of mine. I have a strong passion and eagerness to teach young children to become proficient and independent learners. I continue to strive to incorporate technology into the classroom. I believe technology gives students the building block to succeed in this technological driven society at a young age. We do so much in our classroom throughout the year with Ipads, Mimios, Clickers, and Flip Videos to develop our young learners. The students become successful, independent learners with all these devices and they enjoy learning with them.

Just another day!

Just a few new things for today. With the chick process we are continuing to do the flipping two times a day. We candled again today and along with candling we tally the outcome of whether or not we see an embryo. Today (March 8th) we candled and we could see the embryo in 10 of the brown shelled eggs. 1 of the green shelled egg, and 20 of the white shelled eggs. Bringing our total to 31 eggs with embryos-so we think. We had a total of 36 eggs. I accidentally dropped one and it ended up having a little crack in it. Today we found an egg with a blood line running through it. We looked it up as a class and found out that we should probably take that egg out, so we did. So, now our new total is 34. When we candle the eggs I let the kids tell me what they think, if there is an embryo or not. I will point some things out so they can see better but they make the final decision. The few that we are short we saw some blood circles and that is not suppose to be good. However, it didn't look like the one we took out. So, we marked them and we plan to keep them in there for another week. If they get better we will keep them in there. If they don't grow or get worse we will take them out and get rid of them. Here are a few pictures of our ongoing graph in which I put all our data from the day and another tally graph which a different student will tally each time we candle.
